Ingredients:

  • 4 ripe avocados

  • 2 limes, juiced

  • ½ onion, finely chopped

  • ⅓ cups cilantro, chopped

  • 2 T olive oil

  • 1 serrano chile, finely chopped (optional, for extra heat)

  • salt, to taste

  • 1 packet of Spicy Sicilian from Signe’s Spices

Directions

  1. Prep the avocados: Slice 4 ripe avocados lengthwise and remove the pits — save 2 pits to place back in the finished bowl. Use a dinner knife to loosen the flesh from the skin, then cut into chunks directly into a large bowl.

  2. Add everything: Add 1 Spicy Sicilian seasoning packet, 2 limes, juiced, ½ onion, finely chopped, ⅓ cups cilantro, chopped, 2 tablespoons olive oil, and 1 serrano chile, finely chopped (optional, for extra heat) if using. Season with 1 salt, to taste.

  3. Mash and mix: Smash and stir until the guacamole is mostly smooth with plenty of chunks. Taste and adjust lime juice or salt as needed.

  4. Rest before serving: Tuck the reserved pits into the bowl, cover, and let sit for at least 60 minutes before serving for best flavor.

Notes:

Prevent browning: Keep 2 of the avocado pits nestled in the bowl because it really helps slow browning.
Texture tip: Smash the avocado so it's mostly smooth but still has satisfying chunks throughout.
Make ahead: Best made an hour before serving so all the flavors meld together.
