Marinara Sauce
Ingredients:
1–2 T olive oil
½ onion, chopped
1 can (28 oz) crushed tomatoes
1 can sliced or whole olives
¼ c. fresh chopped basil
1 c. fresh spinach (optional)
Salt & pepper to taste
1 stick pack of Italian Zest from Signe’s Spices
Directions:
Heat olive oil in a saucepan over medium heat.
Add chopped onion and sauté 2–3 minutes until translucent.
Stir in the Italian Zest stick pack and cook about 1 minute to release flavors.
Add crushed tomatoes and olives. Stir well.
Bring to a gentle simmer and cook 10–15 minutes, stirring occasionally.
Just before serving, stir in fresh basil and spinach (if using).
Season with salt and pepper to taste.
Note:
Perfect over pasta, zucchini noodles, chicken, EZ Eggplant Parmigiana, or as a dipping sauce for bread. 🍞✨
